Pack 25 Fall Campout!¶

Hello Pack 25! I'm excited to share the info for our Fall Campout!

We try to make our fall campout "new camper friendly," including access to individual shower/bathroom stalls, and camping at our local Scout Council-run campground. New this year, we are camping during the council's "Cub Fun Day," which will allow Scouts to do archery, slingshots, and BB guns! (Cool, right?)

The Basics¶

• Date: September 25–27, 2026
• Location: Camp Robert Drake (Fairmount, IL)
• Cost:
• Camping for all = Free / paid by Pack 25
• Cub Fun Day Activities (Saturday, 1–4 PM):
  • Paid by Pack 25 for registered Scouts
  • $10/youth for siblings who also want to participate

Registration¶

• Turn in a hard copy to Eddie Waldmire — we'll keep them in a binder for emergencies

This is family camping — siblings are welcome!

Schedule Overview¶

Friday night — Focus is on getting set up.

Saturday — We'll spend the day doing fun outdoor activities (non-campers welcome!):

Cub Fun Day Activities (1–4 PM, run by the Council, not Pack 25): - Archery (K–5) - Slingshot (K–5) - BB Guns (1st–5th grade)

Pack-organized activities may include: - Hiking - Campfire cooking - Fishing - Games - Advancement

8:00 PM — Evening campfire program with songs/skits in the Jack Jones Arena!

Sunday — Focus is on breakfast and tear down.

New to Camping? No Problem!¶

If you've never camped before and are hesitant to try, camping with Cub Scouts is an easy first camping experience. The Pack works together on the "hard" stuff so families can enjoy the best experience possible!

Don't own camping gear? Very little is needed! See the "What to Bring" section of the Schedule and Info document, and reach out to me if a lack of gear or experience is holding you back. I'll do my best to find what you can borrow (the Pack owns a few spare tents) and/or recommend an inexpensive option you can buy locally — the "Ozark Trail" brand at Walmart is decent, inexpensive gear, and a reasonably sized tent runs about $30–40.

I love camping and I'm happy to answer any questions that may ease your mind!
